O'HIGGINS GREEN CORRIDOR
Electromobility, Culture, and Sustainable Tourism
The O'Higgins Green Corridor is an innovative initiative designed to establish the O'Higgins Region as a benchmark for sustainable tourism and environmental conservation in Chile. This project, spearheaded by Big Magazine in partnership with Copec Voltex and Porsche, is supported by the Ministry of Economy, Development, and Tourism, through Sernatur O’Higgins, the Ministry of Energy, and the Regional Government of O'Higgins. Its primary goal is to integrate the region's rich natural and cultural heritage with green mobility and sustainable development.
By connecting iconic destinations such as the Colchagua Valley, the coastal areas of Pichilemu and Matanzas, and the mountain range of Machalí, the Green Corridor promotes responsible tourism, drives technological innovation, and contributes to the economic and cultural growth of rural communities.
Ranked eighth in the New York Times' "52 Places to Visit in 2024", the O'Higgins Region stands out for its vibrant cultural heritage, world-renowned wine gastronomy, and diverse geography. From tranquil retreats and coastal sports adventures to top-tier wine experiences, this corridor offers an unparalleled journey through the treasures of the region.
At the heart of the O'Higgins Green Corridor lies a network of 10 electric vehicle charging stations, strategically located in carefully selected hotels. This corridor not only links the vineyards of the Colchagua Valley, the beaches of Pichilemu and Matanzas, and the Andes mountains but also encourages the use of electric vehicles among residents and tourists, ensuring a truly sustainable travel experience.
