BIG MAGAZINE - 20 YEARS OF PRINT
Two Decades of Art, Fashion, and Editorial Freedom
More than a magazine, Big was a radical editorial experiment—born in Madrid in 1991 and reimagined in New York from 1993 onwards. Under the direction of Marcelo Jünemann, Big Magazine dissolved the boundaries between art, photography, fashion, and design. Each issue stood as a self-contained work of art, often dedicated to a city, a concept, or a singular voice—curated with visual audacity and a fierce commitment to creative freedom.
This exhibition revisits the legacy of Big’s print era: a moment when the magazine became an international platform for both cult creators and emerging talent. With over 50 international awards and hundreds of collaborations that defied convention, Big reshaped the landscape of independent publishing and left a lasting imprint on visual culture.
Years after its final print edition, Big continues to evolve—expanding into new formats, disciplines, and exhibitions. The spirit of editorial rebellion lives on.
